Trigger Launches Salt: Online Movie Game

July 14th, 2010 by TRIGGER

Salt Flash Game

Trigger recently launched a free online game for Sony Pictures’ Salt. The game is an isometric shooter that lets players experience the opening scene from the upcoming summer film. Users play as Salt, who has just been identified as a double agent and must escape. The game, which takes place in a CIA building across three floors, features multiple end-game scenarios that let players succeed by either exiting from the roof or ground level or by creating TNT to blow up a wall.

Users have to battle their way out of the building and have a number of long-range weapon pick-ups at their disposal to go along with hand-to-hand fighting techniques. The game lets users choose between a male or female playable character and connect with Facebook to create a customized Agency ID badge as well. “Salt: Online Movie Game” also includes a customizable control scheme, a top 10 leaderboard, and a real-time in-game world map. The game was localized into twelve different languages for an international audience. Salt stars Angelina Jolie and will be released in the US on July 23rd.

Trigger Launches Official Rango Teaser Website

July 6th, 2010 by TRIGGER

blog_rango

Trigger recently launched the teaser website for Paramount Pictures’ Rango. The upcoming computer-animated film features the voice talents of Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, and Abigail Breslin. Rango is directed by Gore Verbinski, who teamed up with Depp in the past when working on the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Expect big things from this movie when it comes out in March 2011.

The site, which went through four phases across the past month to prepare for the launch of the first trailer, shows a long road in a desert with several objects strewn across the ground. The site features many interactive objects and characters, with repeat clicks providing additional animations. There are a number of things you can do here: strum the guitar to have the mariachi owl appear, click on the toad and he will growl and complain, change stations on the radio, chuck coconuts with the plastic palm tree, *catches breath*, bother a pill bug which in turn bothers a group of moles, and watch roadrunners explore, clouds pass, tumbleweeds roll by, and cars drive on. There are some not-so-obvious hidden touches too… try visiting during the day and later on at night! Take your time and really explore the desert landscape.

June 8th, 2010 by TRIGGER

Karate Kid The Five Virtues

Trigger’s game, The Five Virtues, for Sony Pictures’ The Karate Kid is today’s Adobe Site of the Day! The Karate Kid game is a “2.5D” fighting game that lets players engage in hand-to-hand combat with computer enemies. Players can choose any of 5 different environments to learn the 5 different virtues of Kung Fu: Patience, Endurance, Perseverance, Courage, and Will. This is the first game that Trigger has created in this style, and we are really pleased with the result.

Adobe awards the Site of the Day to websites with strong visual designs, superior functionalities, and innovative uses of Adobe products. Adobe provided the following reason for selecting our Karate Kid fighting game:

Featuring martial arts fighting that looks cool but isn’t violent, this game uses Adobe software to build excitement for this film’s summer release.

Salt, which stars Angelina Jolie, is expected to be one of the biggest movies releasing this summer. The website highlights evidence pointing to the good and the bad in Evelyn Salt’s double-agent character. The slick site was also designed to be easily internationalized for other territories.

Trigger Change: Radio Station in the Congo

May 19th, 2010 by TRIGGER

In 2008, Trigger joined discussions with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International to fund the construction of ranger stations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The funds for one of the ranger stations were diverted to create a radio station in the area. The station has a staff of 13 journalists from the Tayna Center for Conservation Biology and is one of the few sources of outside information for about 300,000 people within a 62-mile radius. Like all donations made through the Trigger Change program, Trigger would like to thank its clients for making these efforts possible. View the photo gallery below to take a look at the radio station and its manager, Kavusa.
