Trigger worked with g-NET Media to create the website for Ubisoft’s Nintendo Wii game, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. The game series produced by Suda51 is known for its quirkiness, so Trigger designed an immersive website that would appeal to the series’ fans by matching its unique vibe. The vibrant site uses 8-bit graphics and sound effects and has a persistent full-screen video playing in the background which shows footage from the game. While users browse the site’s various sections, the video plays in the background to create an intense visual and aural combination that nearly reaches sensory overload. Users also have the option to pause, mute, skip, rewind, and shuffle the background clips. An easter egg is even hidden in the site, where an animation of Travis Touchdown’s signature beam katana move appears when users shuffle the video player’s clips. Fans on gaming forums have responded extremely well to the site and have described it with adjectives such as: nice, great, awesome, and sweet. A few have even hailed it as the “best website ever.” Nice.
