Trigger created a sizzle video showcasing The Karate Kid app played on an iPad, which is now featured on Creativity Online’s AdCritic section. Creativity Online, which is the new digital home of the former monthly magazine Creativity, showcases the latest forms of brand creativity. At the 2010 NAB Show held earlier in the week in Las Vegas, Jason Yim, Trigger President and Executive Creative Director, was part of a panel discussing mobile marketing for movie studios. At the panel, “Mobile: A New Marketing and Advertising Tool for Hollywood,” Jason showed some of Trigger’s existing iPhone apps and the new Karate Kid iPad app. He also discussed the future of mobile advertising and how iAds will become a great opportunity for smaller studios and filmmakers to promote their movies with smaller budgets.

Many of our readers may remember our blog post showcasing the H-Wing Carfighter that was parked in front of the Trigger LA office one fateful day 3 years ago. Susan, Account Manager at Trigger, visited the Long Beach Convention Center on Saturday for the Comic Expo and happened to run into the awesomely modded car and its owner, Obi-Shawn.

This past weekend Jason Yim, Trigger President and Executive Creative Director, spoke at Sundance Film Festival as part of the panel “Cross-Platform and Transmedia Storytelling for Filmmakers.” Jason did a case study on Trigger’s District 9 campaign, which enhances viewers’ understanding of the film through augmented reality and alternate reality sites such as Multi-National United and MNU Spreads Lies. Using District 9 as an example, Jason discussed how filmmakers are really starting to embrace multiple forms of media as a way to build on a film’s story.
